Working as a helper

Not everyone needs to open a store. You can work purely as a helper: other people's stores dispatch jobs to you, you take them, you do them, you get paid.

This page is for people with no store of their own. The app lives at app.huanhuan.com.au — it runs in your phone browser, and "Add to Home Screen" installs it like a real app.

You still need your own account

Sign up for an account first (phone or email + password) — see Account and login. You need an account before you can join anyone's store. The same account signs you in to HuanHuan Community, social.huanhuan.com.au, which is where the public board lives.

No store, still the full workspace

All six tabs are there — Today / Schedule / Messages / Collab / Ledger / Me. Your status at the top reads "Helper · no store yet".

  • Today: one big number at the top, "Helper income · Paid" (its "Ledger ›" link jumps to the ledger), then "🤝 My jobs (helping other stores)", and at the bottom a button "＋ Enter invite code / open your store". When there's nothing on, it says "No new job offers or active jobs right now."
  • Schedule: everything only store owners use (＋ Add job, vehicles/staff, in-store jobs) hides itself, leaving just your jobs. When there's nothing at all: "No data yet. You don’t have your own store — once you take on helper jobs, your work shows up here."
  • Messages: your conversations with each owner, one per job. A red number on the tab means something new.
  • Collab: everything you do as a helper lives here — the four income numbers, pending invites, in progress, completed, plus "🌏 My public-board applications". Accepting, adding to your schedule, marking done, checking what's been paid: all on this page.
  • Ledger / Reports: "🤝 Helper income (working for other stores)" is its own block, never mixed with any store's books.
  • Me: your account, "Stores I help (N)", and settings (language, push notifications). your helper jobs are no longer repeated here — they're all on Collab.

Landed on the open-a-store page?

If you have no store and aren't yet a helper anywhere, the app takes you straight to the onboarding page. It isn't forcing you to open a store — go get an invite code, or wait for an owner to confirm your public-board application, and it sorts itself out.

Two ways to become a helper

On their side the owner opens Store helpers (Me → tap the store → 🤝 Store helpers) and generates an invite code and invite link in the "🤝 Partner invite" card.

You have two ways to use it:

  • Open the link they sent you (it looks like app.huanhuan.com.au/invite/<code>); or
  • In the app, go Me → ＋ Enter invite code and paste it in.

The page shows the store name and owner, then that store's helper terms. Read them, tick "I have read and agree to {store}’s helper terms", then tap "✓ Join this store as a helper" — the button won't work until it's ticked.

The terms are what that store expects of its helpers (the owner can write their own, or use the platform default: finish jobs at the agreed price and time, raise problems promptly, and sort payment out with the owner outside the app).

Codes change: "🔄 Regenerate" kills the old one instantly, and "🚫 Disable code" shuts the door entirely. So use a code soon after you get it.

A public-board application does not require you to be a helper first. The moment the owner taps "✓ Confirm" on their job assignment, you automatically become a helper at their store — no invite code needed. You agree to that store's helper terms when you apply (unless you're already their helper), and you'll get "🎉 … confirmed your application — the job is yours" once they confirm.

In the owner's own words: "Confirming makes them a helper of your store and reveals the full address and customer details."

Until they confirm, your status is "Applied · awaiting confirm" and you only see the general area:

Applied — waiting for the owner to confirm. Until then only the general area is shown, no exact address or customer details.

Done waiting? Pull it back yourself: "Withdraw" under "🌏 My public-board applications" on the Collab page, or from that job's detail page. The job's page in the community has a 「撤回申请」 (withdraw application) button too — it is the same record.

An owner can send you the invitation link for one particular job (it looks like app.huanhuan.com.au/job/…). It opens a page titled "Subcontract invitation" showing:

  • the store name and trade, the date and time window, and the general area (for a move, the From / To suburbs);
  • what the job pays — one number for a flat price; for an hourly price (board jobs can be hourly from v3.2.0) a breakdown plus an estimate, e.g. "base $50.00 + $45.00/hour × est. 3h · ≈$185.00". The "≈" is worked out from the estimated hours; the real payment is settled on the actual hours you enter when you finish;
  • "{n} spot(s) left".

Not logged in? You get "Log in" and "Sign up" buttons, and you come straight back to this page afterwards. Once logged in, read the store's "Helper terms", tick "I have read and agree to {store}’s helper terms", and tap "Apply for this job". You then see "Applied — waiting on the owner" and a "View status / message owner" button.

  • Already applied? opening the link again takes you straight to your own application page (details, chat, withdraw) instead of the landing page.
  • If the owner turned you down, the page says "The owner did not accept this application."
  • If the owner took the job back down, the spots filled up or the job is over, the page only says "This subcontract invitation has closed."

Applying on the community's 「接单」 (take jobs) page

The list of board jobs is not in this app. It lives in HuanHuan Community, social.huanhuan.com.au — same account, and the interface is Chinese-only for now. Tap 「接单」 (take jobs) in the bottom bar, set the type filter to 「店主派活」 (jobs sent out by owners) and tap 「我来接」 (I'll take it) on a card to apply (not logged in, you first get 「登录或注册后才能申请接单」 — log in or sign up to apply).

The application lands back in this app under "🌏 My public-board applications" on the 🤝 Collab page, where you check its status or withdraw it — both sides are one record. What the list looks like, the apply sheet and helper terms, waiting for the owner, job-taking mode and dispatch cards, reporting progress and submitting a receipt are all in Community · Taking jobs.

What you can and cannot see

Once you join, your visibility is exactly one sentence: "Once joined, you help with this store's work as a helper and only see collaboration-related content."

In practice:

  • You see your own pay, never what the job itself sold for. That's a promise printed on the owner's job assignment screen: "Helpers only see their own amount, not the price of the job itself."
  • What you get on a job is a read-only "Your job" card: pay, time window, address, customer and contact. You cannot edit the source job — that belongs to the owner.
  • You are not trading under their brand. You take the jobs they dispatch to you; your own business (if you have one) stays completely separate.
  • Every job has a one-to-one chat (yours is labelled "Chat with owner"). Price, timing, door numbers — say it there. Every thread is also listed under "💬 Messages".

Jobs you accept land on your calendar

Once you tap "✓ Accept", the job is yours:

  • It appears on your Schedule page as a purple block titled "For {store}", with the address underneath. In the timeline legend it's the "Helping others" swatch.
  • It turns grey when done.
  • If the owner reschedules, your calendar follows — the time always comes from their source job. When they change it you get a 🔔 "📅 {store} updated a job you took (time/address changed) — tap to review"; the page itself doesn't refresh on its own, so reload and you have the new time. Any change to the source job leaves an entry under "📝 Change log" at the bottom of the job.
  • You get a reminder the evening before: around 5 pm, anything on tomorrow sends "📅 Job tomorrow: {store} · …".
  • Jobs you do for others are not clash-checked. The "⚠ Clash" warning only covers an owner's own vehicle/staff double-bookings in their store; it knows nothing about what you picked up elsewhere. Keep track yourself — don't put two stores' jobs in the same afternoon.

The four income numbers

The four income numbers show up in two places — on Today (at the bottom of the "🤝 My jobs (helping other stores)" card) and on Collab (at the top of "My jobs as helper") — and they match:

Trust the per-row label

The app works these four out for you — treat them as a rough view, not a per-transaction audit trail. To check whether one job actually paid out, look at that row's own label. In the Ledger, every line under "🤝 Helper income (working for other stores)" reads "Pending" until it lands and "Paid" once it has; the Collab page labels the same rows "To settle" / "Received".

The English labels aren't consistent across pages

Same numbers, different wording depending on the screen: "Committed" appears as "Accepted" on the Today page, and "Paid" appears as "Received" on the Collab page. The Chinese labels are identical everywhere.

The money moves offline. HuanHuan never touches your cash; it only keeps the status straight. The owner transfers the money, taps "Mark paid", and on your side "Waiting for owner to settle" becomes "✓ Paid" — with a notification, "💰 {store} marked ${amount} as paid — check it arrived".

If a job you finished is still unpaid after 7 days, you get an evening reminder — "⏳ {store}: finished {n} days ago, payment not marked yet — worth a nudge" — and the owner gets one telling them to pay. Once per job.

When an owner removes their store

an owner can "Remove this store" from their Me page. If a store you helped is removed:

  • that store's open offers, your applications and jobs in progress disappear from your lists;
  • jobs you already finished stay in your income records — the money side doesn't vanish with it;
  • the store's public links (its store page, invitation links and so on) stop working for everyone (the store page says "This store is not available at the moment.").

If anything is still unpaid, sort it out with the owner directly, offline.

"{n} jobs done on platform" is your reputation

Every job you finish adds one to your platform completion count.

Here's why it matters: when you apply for a public-board job, the owner reviewing you sees a row with exactly three things — your name, what this job pays you, and a purple badge reading "{n} jobs done on platform". No photo, no star rating, no bio. An owner reviewing you in the community's 「我的分包单」 (my job assignments) sees much the same: your name, your completion count and what this job pays you.

Which means: to an owner who has never met you, your completion count is very nearly your entire CV. Take a few jobs early and finish them properly, and public-board applications get much easier later.

You can't see this number yourself

"{n} jobs done on platform" is only visible to the owner reviewing your application. It doesn't appear anywhere on your own screens in the app.

When you're ready, open your own store

Being a helper isn't the end of the road. The same account opens a store via "＋ Enter invite code / open your store" at the bottom of Today, or "＋ Start another business" on the Me page. The experience, the completion count, the muscle memory are all yours — and once your store is running you can still keep helping other people, with each set of books kept separate.
