The public board: recruit from the community¶
None of your own helpers can take the job, and you don't want to turn it away — put it on the board and let people you don't know apply for it.
The app says it like this: "Own helpers can’t take it? Set a price here — flat or hourly — then turn on “Visible to applicants” below so people in the community can apply. The board shows your price; customer details stay hidden until you confirm."

Why the price has to be one number: with your own helpers you negotiate one by one and you know who gets what. The board is a listing strangers read — one job, one price. Whoever takes it gets that amount (for hourly, the same base and rate).
“Flat price” and “Fixed price” are the same thing
Chinese calls both 一口价 — one agreed number, no hourly meter. English just labels it differently by screen: on the board card the switch says Fixed and the box says Flat price, the private job assignment page says Fixed price, and the "Add another" card shortens it to Fixed. The only real difference is who agrees the number — each helper separately, or everyone on the board at one price.
You need a job assignment first
The public board is not a separate entry point. First create a job assignment from a job card ("🤝 Subcontract") or from a repair / cleaning ticket ("🤝 Subcontract to a helper"). Publishing is a switch on that job assignment.
You can create one even with nobody in the store. The page says "No helpers yet. Tap “Invite helper” below to generate an invite code, then dispatch once they join.", and under "🤝 Invite helper" there is also "Create job & get application link (no invite)" — it creates an empty job assignment without inviting anyone. When you do have helpers, the same button sits at the bottom of the create page.
Publishing: set a price, then turn on "Visible to applicants"¶
the old Publish / Unpublish buttons are merged into one switch. Open the job assignment and find the card "🌏 Publish to the public board". Top to bottom, three steps:
- Pick the pricing: "Fixed" or "⏱ Hourly".
- Fill in the price and tap "✓ Save price" — you get "Pricing updated".
- Fixed: type an amount into the Flat price box. It has to be above 0, or you get "Set the flat price first".
- Hourly: fill in Base, Rate and Est. hours. It is the same formula as hourly private offers: total = base + rate × est. hours; rate and est. hours both have to be above 0.
- Turn on the "🌏 Visible to applicants" switch at the bottom of the card. Until a price has been saved the switch is greyed out. Turning it on has no second confirmation — it goes live straight away.
Next to the switch is "🔗 Copy invitation link" (from v3.2.0 it moved, together with the switch, to the bottom of the card under the price boxes). Tap it and you get "Link copied"; send it to anyone on WeChat. See The invitation link below.
Once it is live:
- A coral chip "🌏 Public" appears at the top of the job assignment.
- The card text becomes "Live on the public board · flat price $XX. Community users can apply; they can’t see customer details until you confirm." For hourly it shows the breakdown instead, e.g. "Live on the public board · base $50.00 + $45.00/hour × est. 3h. …".
- In the "🤝 Job assignment" and "🤝 Collab" lists, that row is tagged "🌏 Public" too.
- The job card appears on the 「接单」 (take jobs) page of HuanHuan Community, social.huanhuan.com.au — the type filter 「店主派活」 (jobs sent out by owners) narrows the list to jobs owners pushed out. The card shows only the store name, the general area, the time window, your price and how many spots are left. Helpers there who have 「接单模式」 (job-taking mode) on, are close enough and do this kind of work also get a dispatch card with a countdown, 「附近公域派活」 (public job nearby). You can change the price while it's live
The price boxes stay on the card the whole time. Change the numbers, tap "✓ Save price", done — no need to take it down first. You can switch between Fixed and Hourly too. A new price only applies to people who apply after the change — anyone who already applied keeps the amount from the moment they applied.
Hourly jobs show the breakdown plus an estimate (from v3.2.0)
Inside the app, an hourly board job never shows just one bare number. The "🌏 Public applicants" card on the job assignment, the applicant's own "🌏 My public-board applications" on the Collab page and the page the invitation link opens all show a breakdown like "base $50.00 + $45.00/hour × est. 3h", plus a rough total starting with "≈". The community's 「接单」 page is the exception: its card shows only the estimated total as 「一口价 A$X」 (flat price A$X) plus a per-hour figure "≈A$x/时" worked out from the time window — no base, rate or estimated hours. Keep that in mind when you set the price. It is only an estimate: payment is still settled on the actual hours the helper enters when they finish, just like a private hourly job.
The invitation link¶
Every job assignment gets its own link the moment it is created (app.huanhuan.com.au/job/…). It opens a page titled "Subcontract invitation": store name, date and time window, the general area (for a move, the From / To suburbs), what the job pays (for hourly, the breakdown plus a ≈ total) and "{n} spot(s) left". People who are not logged in can see the page; to apply they tap "Log in" or "Sign up". Once logged in they read your store's helper terms, tick to agree, and tap "Apply for this job". From there the application is exactly like one from the board and shows up in your "🌏 Public applicants".
From v3.2.0 the link and the board share one switch
- "Visible to applicants" on: the job is on the public board, and the invitation link opens and takes applications.
- Off: both go offline together. Anyone opening the link only sees "This subcontract invitation has closed."
Before, a shared link kept taking applications even if you had never published — easy to think a job was "not public" when it was. If you want people to apply through the link now, turn the switch on first.
Someone who has already applied and taps the link again skips the landing page and goes straight to their own application status page (details, chat, withdraw).
The privacy line¶
Applicants cannot see your customer until you confirm
Before you confirm, an applicant sees only: which store, what the job is, the date and time window, the general area, and what it pays them.
What they do not see: the exact address, the customer's name, the customer's phone.
This is not the address hidden away in small print somewhere on the page — those rows simply are not in an applicant's view. For a helper you invited yourself, the same spot shows the full address.
On the applicant's own screen it reads: "Applied — waiting for the owner to confirm. Until then only the general area is shown, no exact address or customer details."
This one matters to your customer as much as to you: putting a job on the board does not send their address and phone out with it. It unlocks the moment you tap "✓ Confirm" — not before.
Who can apply, and on what rules¶
- They do not have to be your helper first. The app's wording is "people in the community can apply".
- Helpers have two ways in: the 「接单」 (take jobs) page of HuanHuan Community at social.huanhuan.com.au — the moment "Visible to applicants" is on, the job is listed there with a 「我来接」 (I'll take it) button on the card — and the invitation link you send out. The app itself has no page for browsing board jobs: in the app you set the price, flip the switch and review; the browsing side lives in the community.
- People who have already applied can see their own applications in the app under 🤝 Collab → "🌏 My public-board applications (n)": store name · amount · status, with 📅 date and time and 📍 the general area below, plus two buttons, "Details/chat" and "Withdraw" (which asks "Withdraw this application?").
A few rules are fixed on the server:

If an action isn't allowed, the app tells you plainly: "Can’t do that right now"
Reviewing applicants: chat first, then confirm¶
When someone applies you get a 🔔 "🌏 {name} applied for your public job" — and a push on your phone if it's on; this one can't be muted. The row in the list also gets a coral badge, "🌏 {n} applied".
Leave an application for 48 hours without confirming or declining and you get one more reminder that evening: "👀 {name}’s application has been waiting {n}h — one of their 5 slots is stuck".
Open the job assignment and you get a card, "🌏 Public applicants ({n})", one row per person:
- their name (or just "Helper" if they left it blank);
- the amount this job pays them (with a "≈" in front for hourly, plus a breakdown line "base … + …/hour × est. …h" below);
- a purple chip, "{n} jobs done on platform".
No photo, no star rating, no bio. Jobs done on the platform is the only credential the board gives them — earned by doing the work, not by writing about it.
Every applicant has a one-to-one chat under their row, and you can chat before confirming. The card puts it this way: "Chat first if you like. Confirming makes them a helper of your store and reveals the full address and customer details."
Two buttons:
- Decline — asks "Decline {name}'s application?" first.
- ✓ Confirm — asks "Confirm {name} for this job ($XX)? They'll become a helper of your store and see the full address and customer details."
That single tap does three things at once: they take the job, they become a helper of your store (no separate invite code needed), and the full address and customer details unlock.
You can review in the community too: “我的分包单”
Log in to HuanHuan Community with the same account (Chinese-only interface for now): under 「我的分包单」 (my job assignments) at the top right of the 「接单」 (take jobs) page you can also 「确认 TA」 (confirm) or 「婉拒」 (turn down) applicants. Confirming on either side is the same action; "Mark paid" exists only in the app. How to review there: Community · Taking jobs.
Either way the applicant is told ("🎉 … confirmed your application — the job is yours" / "… didn’t take your application this time"); when the slots fill up, the people who missed out get "Slots filled: … job went to someone else this time".
From there it is exactly the same path as a helper you invited: they tap "✓ Mark done" when the work is done, you pay them offline, you come back and tap "Mark paid", and on their side it turns into "✓ Paid". A helper who came through the community can also report progress there — 「我已出发」 (on my way) and 「已到达,开始干活」 (arrived, starting work) — and you get a notification each time. That is progress only; the money still follows "✓ Mark done" and "Mark paid".
Turning off "Visible to applicants"¶
Tap the "Visible to applicants" switch at the bottom of the card again and it asks first:
Turn this off? The public board listing and the invitation link both stop working — existing applications are kept, you can still confirm or decline them.
So turning it off is not a way to clear the decks. Everyone who already applied stays in "🌏 Public applicants" waiting for you, and you can still confirm or decline them. It only pulls the job back from the board and the link so no new people apply.
The price stays saved — to put it up again, just turn the switch back on.
Why it is worth sending work out¶
Swallowing a job you can't actually staff earns you a bad review. Handing it to someone else earns you a favour.
- Give work out today and people think of you when they have work tomorrow. The board is a net of people who remember each other, not a chute for dumping jobs.
- Every job you send out helps someone build a credential. "Jobs done on platform" is earned one job at a time — publish one more and the community has one more person worth calling.
- Keep at it long enough and they open their own store. Then they are the owner with jobs they can't take — and they tend to hand them to whoever gave them a start.
One person's fleet only gets so big. A circle's fleet keeps growing.
